COACH MAYO

Coach title and years loaded from custom fields

Before he ever put a running back through a drill, Coach Mayo answered a higher call — serving in the United States Army. He brought that same warrior mindset to the sideline: attack every rep, protect the ball like it’s a mission objective, and never leave your brother behind. That’s not a philosophy. That’s a way of life.

As the Varsity Running Backs Coach, Mayo builds backs that are built different — vision, physicality, ball security, and football IQ that can’t be coached out of them fast enough. His guys don’t just run plays. They read defenses, break tackles, and carry the identity of this program on every carry.

As Frosh/Soph Head Coach, Mayo is the architect of the pipeline. He’s the reason the varsity roster stays loaded — taking raw athletes and forging them into Steelers through accountability, fundamentals, and the kind of hard coaching that turns boys into competitors. Three seasons. The tradition doesn’t break because he won’t let it.

“This program is bigger than football. We’re building men who go out and represent Fontana with their heads up. That starts right here, on this field.”
