How do I sign my son up for football?

All prospective players must complete athletic clearance through the online portal, obtain a current physical, and attend scheduled tryouts or orientation. Visit our Resources page for the clearance link.

What are the costs involved?

There is a participation fee that covers equipment, insurance, and team gear. Financial assistance is available for families who qualify. Contact the coaching staff for details.

When are practices held?

During the season, practices are Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Summer conditioning begins in June. Check the Calendar for specific dates.

What is the academic eligibility requirement?

Student-athletes must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA with no F grades to be eligible for competition, per CIF rules.

What equipment is provided?

The school provides helmets, shoulder pads, and game jerseys. Players are responsible for cleats, gloves, and personal gear.

Are there different team levels?

Yes — we field Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshman teams. Players are placed based on skill level, experience, and grade.

How can parents get involved?

Join the Booster Club, volunteer at games and events, attend parent meetings, and support fundraising efforts. Visit the Booster Club page to learn more.

What is the football clearance process?

Complete the online athletic clearance form, provide a current physical exam, submit emergency contact info, and sign all required waivers. Everything is handled through the Athletic Clearance Portal.

Can my son play if he transfers to Fontana High?

Transfer students may have a waiting period per CIF regulations. Contact the athletic director for guidance on transfer eligibility.

Where can I watch game film?

Game film is available on HUDL. Players and coaches receive access through the Player Portal.

How do I stay updated on team news?

What is Senior Night?

Senior Night is a special ceremony held during the last regular-season home game honoring graduating seniors and their families.

Does the team travel for away games?

Yes, the team travels by bus for all away games. Travel details are shared through the Player Portal and parent communications.

Are there offseason programs?

Yes — the Steelers run year-round strength and conditioning, 7-on-7 passing leagues, and summer camp. These are critical for player development.
